Connect this store to Claude Code
Once connected, you can ask Claude to audit the store, write product and SEO content, build collections, pages and menus. Every change is shown to you as a plan first and can be rolled back.
1Before you start
- Claude Code is installed on your computer.
- The shopify-store-mcp plugin folder is on the same computer (Node.js 20 or newer).
2Run the connect command
Open the Terminal app (not the Claude chat box) and run these two commands:
3Paste the Client secret if asked
Open your app in the Shopify Dev Dashboard, find Credentials, and click the copy icon next to Client secret. Paste it at the hidden prompt and press Enter. Nothing appears while you paste; that's normal.
You should see ✓ and Registered …. The secret never leaves your computer and is never shown on this page.
4Start working with Claude
Open a new Claude Code session (the store's tools load when a session starts) and try:
How changes work: Claude reads freely, but every edit is proposed as a plan with a before → after list. Nothing changes until you reply “apply”, and any applied plan can be rolled back.
